My first Cyber Security Challenge Belgium, the country's biggest cybersecurity competition, organized every year by the Cyber Security Coalition. I played with team FSOCIETY and we finished in the top 65.

What I did

I mostly worked on the cryptography and web security challenges: putting encryption algorithms into practice and exploiting common web vulnerabilities. My favorite moment was cracking a complex SQL injection challenge, which meant understanding both the exploit and its business impact.

What I took from it

This is the competition that made me want to work in cybersecurity. I realized I enjoy thinking like an attacker while keeping a defender's mindset, which is what security consulting is all about.
