A 48-hour hackathon about giving retro objects a second life. Our project: Ephec Station 1.

What I did

We took an old, broken PlayStation 1 and kept its case to bring it back to life: a Raspberry Pi inside running a retro gaming system with a whole library of classic games, plus some electronics so that every original button and both controller ports actually work.

We also started turning an old PS1 controller into a Bluetooth one. We didn't get there within the 48 hours, so I kept working on it at home.

What I took from it

Bringing old hardware back to life: wiring modern electronics to a console's original buttons and ports, and making it all fit back in the case.
