Back with team FSOCIETY for a second edition, with more advanced scenarios modeled on current threats. We placed 46th, four places short of the top 42 qualification cutoff.
What I did
I took the lead on binary exploitation, building on what I'd learned about memory management and assembly. Under time pressure, the job was to spot attack vectors quickly and turn them into working exploits.
What I took from it
Missing the qualification by four places was a lesson in precision: in security, the details make the difference.
